For women, one of the biggest enemies of the skin is ultraviolet radiation. Ultraviolet radiation can cause skin damage, DNA damage, and even induce skin tumors. As the skin damage caused by ultraviolet radiation is mainly oxidative damage and local inflammatory reactions, using antioxidants to treat ultraviolet skin damage is a treatment option. However, the difficulty of antioxidants entering all parts of the cell limits the effectiveness of many antioxidants. Chinese Nanjing Medical University and Korean scholars have conducted separate studies, demonstrating that both systemic and topical use of hydrogen water can combat UV skin damage. In a 2011 study, Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology published a study on the occasional resistance of hydrogen water to UV damage. The results showed that hydrogen water has the ability to scavenge malignant oxygen free radicals and can serve as an effective method for combating UV damage.

A study in South Korea suggests that bathing with electrolyzed water can treat skin damage caused by ultraviolet radiation. The study used hairless mice, which were treated with ultraviolet radiation to cause skin damage, and then randomly bathed in electrolytic hydrogen water for 21 consecutive days. Then check the expression of inflammatory factors in the skin during the acute phase, and observe histology and ultrastructure during the chronic phase. The research results found that UV induced skin damage can be significantly reduced by bathing with hydrogen electrolysis water.
